"Gestures that time forgot"

Graduated from the Van der Kelen-Logelain school, awarded a silver medal,

Loraline de Liedekerke develops a practice rooted in the most ancestral techniques

of decorative painting: trompe-l’œil in wood and marble, gilding, and rare methods

of application including the use of pheasant feather to create effects of singular subtlety.

Her approach is demanding and intentional.

Every gesture carries meaning : oil paint, water-based paint, techniques

that the contemporary art world has largely abandoned.

She revives them, giving them a new place in the art of today.

In a commitment to material integrity, she favours oil and water-based paints,

privileging processes that respect both the surface and the tradition.

Each work becomes a space where perception shifts,

where the boundary between the real and the painted dissolves.
